Kiet Creatives
Media Events

The world has witnessed an explosion of 24/7 media and up-to-date information supply over the past 4 years. This has led to the field of journalism and media in general becoming quite popular as a career choice among the youth. It is to capture this increasing awareness and interest in the field that KIET FEST this year has its brand new set of Media Events

In an inexplicable twist of events (pun unintended), the cultural festival of IIT-Madras, a technological institute, decided to have a new set of events catering to the... Update!!!! The events might test the serious, upright journalist, as well as the comical columnist. Anyway, it is thought that people who think that their mother's favourite vase getting shattered by their cricket ball is "Breaking News" will be as welcome at the event as those who thought Watergate was a defining moment in investigative journalism. So... Breaking News!!! A 12-year old boy, while playing cricket today... - Extract of a report from theonion.com

Ad-jestment
Ad-jestment (Ad-making) - The field of advertising is what drives the field of media. Question is, does it drive you? Ad-jestment is about how well you can adapt your idea to make print ads, visual ads, online ads, taglines or anything else we throw at you. Yeh dil maange more?

Ads form a big part of our lives. According to research, an average person sees 5000 ads a day! (Well at least it said so when I googled it.) Television is basically a bunch of commercials with soap operas/game shows thrown in between. But somehow some advertisements make more of an impact when compared to others. Think about it - the word 'noodles' is now used almost synonymously with Maggi, the pug has become a cultural icon as the Hutch mascot (now Vodafone), and everyone seems to be convinced that they cannot have just one potato chip.
What made these ads/catchphrases click? What separates them from the countless others that we see everyday? Most important of all - do you think you can make an ad like that?
Say hello to Ad-jestment - KIET latest event set out to test your advertising skill!
The choice is yours - use your humour to grab the attention of your consumers or go for a more classy, sophisticated approach. Get innovative - think of out-of-the-box ways to get your product across. The goal at the end of the day will be to indelibly impress your product into the viewers' minds. Your advertising skills will be tested on various media - be it on print or on the idiot box.
