LOCATION : KIET is located in KORANGI [CORINGA], Kakinada City, the H.Q of East Godavari District, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koringa_River, http://www.kakinadaonline.com/ Reaching KIET: Road: 10 kms to the south of Kakinada City on the National Highway No.214 towards Yanam, KIET could be reached by different modes of Conveyance. Flight: 70 Kms from the Rajahmundry airport and 160 Kms from Vizag airport, KIET could be reached from all major Cities Rajahmundry airport .0883- 2487001/2, Vizag airport - 0891 2572020. Train: 30 Kms from Samarlakota Railway junction on the Chennai - Howrah Main Railway Line. Kakinada also has a railway station with direct trains from Vizag, Hyderabad, Chennai, Banglore, Manmad, Bhavnagar, etc.

KIET: Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology well known by its acronym "KIET" has been established in the year 2001. Established by young people, there is always an elemental youthfulness and vibrancy in KIET. Primary focus is on developing the Spirit of entrepreneurship in the students. In the coming decade, our Country demographically will be the youngest Nation with a large chunck of its population being in the age group of 20 and 30 years. Catering to this potent productive force, India needs a thriving productive economy.With the support of students and parents Kiet has grown enormously. We started KIET W for women in 2008 and KIET II in 2009 which speak volumes of our sucess over the time.

KIET focuses on employment generating disciplines and has identified computers, communication, electronics and IT as potential sectors. The branches at KIET: CSE- Computer Science Engineering - 120 seats,ECE-Electronics and Comm Engineering - 120 seats,EEE- Electrical and Electronics Engineering - 120 seats,IT - Information Technology- 60 seats.We also started MCA with 60 seats and MBA with 60 seats, MTech(VLSI)and MTech(CSE)with 18 seats each.

PLACEMENTS: A Proactive Placement Cell ensures near 100% placements. Today we have already achieved 80 % placement for the outgoing batch. All major IT companies have conducted on-campus recruitment drives. INFOSYS, TCS, SATYAM, HCL, Knowledge Infotech.......

Placement training: Placement training which constitutes personality development, attitude, aptitude, communication skills and comprehension … is an ongoing process from the first year onwards. Finishing courses: KIET sponsors students every year to take up courses in Digital Signal Process conducted in IIT Chennai by Analog Devices USA and CISCO Net Work training at IIIT, Hyderabad, organized by CISCO. Post College Hostel: KIET provides hostels at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai to its alumni for enabling them to do finishing courses

Higher Education: Students, who intend to pursue higher education, get the required support in KIET. Coaching for GMAT, GRE GATE etc. with inputs from external expert agencies is organized according to the demand from Students.

Affirmative action from KIET: KIET offers scholarships to poor students. Every year KIET admits 1 or 2 orphan students providing complete scholarship. FREE SCHOOL: KIET runs a free school for the children of the BPL families living in the surrounding villages. The college intends to support these children until they settle down in life..

Exposure - seminars - events. "Concours" an annual national level technical and Cultural Event - is organised by KIETIANS. Renowned Professors, Professionals and Corporate Chiefs from IIT's, IIM's, IISc, IIIT's , and from reputed companies - MICROSOFT, HCL, INFOSYS, TCS ,WIPRO, IBM etc are invited by the Students to address them. The students play the chief hosts to these invitees. They develop a good rapport with these luminaries. Every year 100's of Kietians visit as many national events in all major cities and interact with Senior academicians, Corporate Executives and Chairmen of big companies. Eg. NASSCOM , CII, CSI, IEEE, etc.

Faculty: Committed and dedicated Faculty is the main strength @ KIET. Student - teacher ratio of 15:1 is maintained as per the AICTE and JNTU guidelines. Cadre ratio is also maintained with adequate number of M.Tech's and Ph.D's. Teachers constantly upgrade their teaching techniques and knowledge by participating in teacher training programmes, seminars and workshops conducted by IIT's, NIT's, IIM's......

Labs: All the labs are well equipped with industry standard equipment. Care is taken to ensure that the students gain adequate hands on experience. Computer labs are air-conditioned. Separate labs are provided for different software with xeon dual processor based servers and dual core nodes..... The Electrical Labs have thyristor controlled power supplies with automatic regulation.... The Communications labs have Spectrum analyzers, vector Scopes, field strength meters…………

Library: Housed in an acoustically balanced ambience of 15,000 sqft, there is a rich and exhaustive collection of very expensive international editions of Text and reference books by renowned authors. The College Subscribes to 100 National and International journals,-- E-Zines and E-journals. The library is a member of AICTE INDEST Consortium,IEEE,DELNET.. and 60 internet connected computers in the Library offer the students and faculty an immediate opportunity for on-line reference. CLASS ROOMS :

All the class rooms are air-conditioned with E-Learning facility including an LCD projector. It is proposed to have a semester mini-library in the class rooms to equip the student for better learning.. All the class rooms have an inbuilt facility to be transformed into mini seminar halls.

Hostels: Separate hostels for girls and boys are provided in the city. Hostels in the city enable easier access to the parents.. esp to the parents of the girl students. A near home environment and ambience is provided in the hostels. Hot water for bath, alternate power during power cuts, Safe and cool water for drinking, . dhobi and maid services are available.

Canteen: Canteen offers nutritious cuisine at affordable cost. Transparent kitchen ensures hygiene.

Transport: The college has ample transport facility with a fleet of buses. There is a good frequency of public transport.
